UI Customization and Template Saving

When you get all of your settings the way you want them in BT it would be nice to be able to save that as a 'template' file if possible. Maybe .btt (for Beyond Typicals Template) Look into the possibility of pinning sections to the top and/or organizing them as part of this template. Customizable/simple menu would be nice as well- maybe just hide the toolbar panel. (copied note from B&M) The ability for a user to create a custom “lite” interface with pre-programmed sections. As the program has evolved & became more robust with more inputs (sliders/assets/textures/etc), it may start to lose the “super easy to use” functionality that we thought could be a product that we could bring to a public meeting and let any non-technical attendee try it themselves. Chris and I think there is potential for us in the office to pre-program a “lite” set of sections and be able to toggle off certain functionality before letting someone else build their own road. For example, we could create a list of “building block” sections attributable to a certain project like: 11’ Lane at 30 mph with no heavy trucks (left side) Same as above but right side (traffic flipped) 11’ bus-only lane with a red surface 12’ shared use path (assembly of 4’ sidewalk with cyclist + 4’sidewalk with jogger + 4’ sidewalk with walker) Etc. This would allow us to eliminate certain sections & features (like scene effects/layout mode/etc) that might be “clutter” for that particular project, and also fine-tune the sections we expect to be possible for a given project and have them all pre-set before a meeting. The way I think about this is we’ve had public meetings where we’ve literally cut out pieces of paper represent the different sections and let a nearby resident or business owner mix & match the pieces to make the road they would like to see.
